Unreasonably Stupid

Clearly you have to be a special type of moron to (1) think this e-mail scam might work and (2) fall for said scam. Hmmm someone has tried to log-in to MY account...that is MY UNIQUE account...that is my unique account that 3 other Boalt Students have? If you're going to mass e-mail a scam at least hide the recipients when the SCAM IS COMPLETELY DEPENDENT ON THE VICTIM BELIEVING THAT HIS ACCOUNT HAS BEEN COMPROMISED. Sheesh.

Damn that 172.25.210.66 for trying to log-in to all of our accounts. I sure hope they catch him.

Obviously eBay realized that someone was systematically stealing account information from Boalt students. I admit that eBay should not have revealed my email address, even to other people at Boalt whose information was also stolen. I'm just glad I had a chance to respond and correct the situation before anything bad happened.

I don't know about you, but I've had it up to here with The OC at Boalt getting all the glory (read: $$$$$). I think we need a Victims of eBay Fraud group to not only console one another, but in a carefully crafted round-about way skim student fee dollars to help compensate the downtrodden.

"...with who you are dealing with." That's a classic. Do they have the "you've got mail" guy from Crankyankers working for them now?
