Braking 101

For those who travel northbound on the 405 towards the 101, please see the Traube Law of Freeway Braking. The law, as articulated by its formulator in the passenger seat of my car a while back, states: "God damn it, traffic would flow a lot better if people just eased off the gas instead of braking every time."

That means don't slam on the brakes once you start going downhill after Mulholland.
