Killer Resume
In case anyone is interested in having an inferiority complex, the 2006 Rhodes Scholars have been announced. Bios here. Just glancing through, I think it takes a certain kind of mental disorder to only get one grade below an A+ (an A) while tripple majoring and doing all the other crap that the kid did. Maybe I'm just jealous.

I know I'M jealous. I made it to the interviews a few years ago, and after sitting in a room with 20 Stepford students wanting to beat myself silly with a copy of the New York Times I was pretending to read for six hours as the judges deliberated, they finally lined us up in a room "arm to arm, as the British do" to tell us the results. One of the octogenarian elders asked us to take heart that "Jimmy Carter made it to the final round but was not selected." I whispered to the freaked-out pre-med next to me, "Yeah, but Clinton WAS -- and whose presidency would you rather have?" The head judge shot me a look indicating that such is "not as the British do," and shortly thereafter I was not selected.
Yeah, well, at least you didn't go to school with three of them, cockblocked one of them, roomed with another, and puked in the bedroom of a third. Maybe if I hadn't drunk so much I'd be there and not here....
