Horse and Carriage
This is a shout out to all the rising 2Ls out there. I have a question for you all: How's your summer coming along? Is all that LRW and WOA training paying off? Are you learning to invent the wheel all over again? Basically use this as your chance to inform the incoming 1L class what it is they can look forward to for their first summer.

To all people summering at firms are you getting Monday July 3rd off?
I'm getting the day off. I think the whole firm is closed. I better get paid.
We get the day off. Might work, might not. Anyone in DC have a better idea of what to do? Let me know...
We're getting the day off. I don't know for sure if we will be paid, but I have a feeling that we will.
TF, it sounds like you have a choice about whether you will go to work on Monday or not. If you CHOOSE to work on Monday, you are the biggest loser ever. Things to do in DC (and everywhere else): sleep, got to a barbeque, drink beer, hang out with friends, watch fireworks, etc. You're a SUMMER ASSOCIATE. You should not be working on a day when your firm is CLOSED!!!
my firm tells me that i shouldn't be working on a holiday, then they give me more work to do.
To answer Armen's question: I'm working for a state agency and I've written one memo after another all summer. LRW did help in how to format and put together a memo, but I'm basically having to train myself on how to do research outside of caselaw.
DS's firm has monday off. DS will be working because he spent from 0800 to 1045 watching the Germany Argentina match. And he will be watching from noon to at least 2 today the Italy Ukraine match (Ukraine is weak, it's feeble). He's happy to make the trade.
