Questions and answers regarding 1L summer opportunities. I personally endorse judicial externships even though they are not funded. Will Boalties continue efforts to obtain funding for externs?

Definitely a public interest org. It's the only opportunity you'll have to do this kind of work where the money is this easy to get. Take advantage of the Boalt summer grant program while it lasts and work at a non-profit that sounds interesting to you. They're often great experiences with lots of attorney face-time and opportunities to work with clients and write legal docs.
how does a 1L go about researching a PI organization to pursue?
