He was talking to the press at Ft. Hood, Texas. I don't know if it was before or after his meeting with soldiers there.

Full quote here. I guess he said "We" not I. Oops.

tom,
correct me if i am wrong armen, but here we have the man whose position affords him the most power to control peace, and yet he leaves it up to God to handle things.

Yeah pretty much 12:12. With the addition that here's a man threatening to veto bills that CALL FOR PEACE. It's ok Tom. Even the brilliant mind of Eugene Volokh couldn't grasp the humor behind most of slate's Bushisms. I don't associate a sense of humor with intellect. Honestly.

More like we don't associate a sense of humor with modern conservatism.

Us liberals aren't too funny, either. I've been consistently disheartened by the lack of a sense of humor by liberals at Boalt (and beyond). I always thought we were the funny ones, but we seem to take ourselves too seriously nowadays.

MP,
Perhaps the lack of humor results from the fact that your sample of liberals is composed of mostly law students, a pretty humorless lot.
