An Informal Inquiry
Option A: Economy seats for roundtrip flight to Buenos Aires from SFO for $920.
Option B: First class standby seats for $715 for the same flights. Standby rules apply.
Please vote whether you would take option A or option B. You may only vote once, and please include your gender (I know sex is the more accurate term, but I'm still using gender, sorry SS).

I'd take the reserved economy seats.
Screw standby I'd go with Option A
Hmm...risk averse lawyers much?
Ride on the wild-side, go for the first-class seats. (Although, I'm assuming you get your money back if you don't get to fly.)
I'd go either Option A or I'd pay full price for first class w/o standbay, if it's available. I hate going standby -- they always lose my luggage when I'm on standby.
gender: I'd say about 50/50 feminine/masculine...leaning a little more feminine theys days due to recent motherhood. Oh, and I'm female, too. Sexual preference: hetero. Anything else Armen?
I'm with Caliboy. Standby SUUUUUUCKS but then so does flying in general. Might as well take a chance and maybe get to ride in style. Would you really be happy with economy even with a reserved seat? I wouldn't. Luggage loss is a risk though, so I'd say pack light and do carry-on only. Unless you have to bring your hot rollers or something.
Option B.
So....have you made a decision?
I'm not the one with the choice to make. And the decision-maker still hasn't decided.
So far it's 3-3. 2F+1M for A, and 2M + 1? for B.
11:37 is male. Sorry.
go first class standby. it's winter in BA, more likely to get off standby.
Standby. Female. why pay $200 more to be uncomfortable??!!
btw...where can i go to book tickets that would offer me such a choice? i never get the standby option unless i miss my flight.
The decision-maker knows a pilot with an airline that rhymes with merican, from whom option B emanates.
Sorry for the off-topic post but I just had to ask:
When is the bar bri edition of Boalt Briefs coming out? Also, how is Boalt Briefs going to do distribution of the day-of bar exam editions with Boalties taking the test at so many different locations?
I flew to BA a few years ago on an airline that rhymes with what that one rhymes with (rhymes with) on economy class but the bird was so empty that I had a 3-seat row to myself on the flight home and lots of free drinks. So I'd go with the economy to get the dates I wanted & queue up to get on the plane early.
well, how bad do you want to go to BA? Economy class.
BA is amazing, even in the winter (but bring a warm jacket).
On an unrelated rant (well, sort of unrelated--airplanes are contained spaces much like BARBRI classroomes). A note to sick people in BARBRI. YOU SHOULD GO HOME! Leave. Don't infect the rest of us.
BARBRI even has CDs you can check out to make up a lecture.
4:26, in first class, unlike Bar/Bri, you're not near any sniffly, sneazy, aching, couching so you can't rest people.
For real? The reserved seats, no question. The peace of mind of knowing I'm getting on the plane is worth a lot more than $200 to me.a
