A Smart Bomb? Gaydar? Gayser?
The Bay Area's CBS5 is reporting that the Air Force planned to make a "gay bomb" that would use chemicals to turn the opposing army gay. (For a split second I thought they were modifying Eddie Izzard's idea of sending in the transvestites into battle first to give yourself the element of surprise). But no, they really wanted to build this.
Gay community leaders in California said Friday that they found the notion of a 'gay bomb' both offensive and almost laughable at the same time.I can't add much more to that. (However, I am curious if anyone knows anything about the organization that apparently got the FOIA docs...Berkeley's Sunshine Project?)

I agree that this is nonsense.
There is no cure for being straight.
The idea is laiden with politically incorrect overtones. Nevertheless, such a bomb would probably scare the living daylights out of many foreign armies, whose countries are far more hateful and intolerant toward gays than our own. This serves as a reminder of how much civil and human rights work needs to be done in many foriegn countries to promote gay rights.
Oh my God! I feel a sudden need to redecorate the inside of this tank!!! :)
