I'm the law-talking guy

But, it was all made better by this poster my brother just sent me.

So, I hope this will renew the post. I'm with Armen. Fee-hikes schmee hikes. Prices always go up. Deal with it. Boalt's class of 2013 will look back on us with the same envy which we look back on the class of 2001.

Also, I just got back from scouting the San Mateo expo center if anyone cares. I had to drop the fiancee off at the airport (her bachlorette party is this weekend). From SFO it was an easy trip to see where the Crown Plaza is located, how long it takes to drive to San Mateo, and where I can pick up some breakfast and lunch on the way there. I'm more comfortable now, and I won't be surprised by anything come Tuesday morning, except, I suppose, that Con Law is the subject of essay one.

Looks like parking at the expo cetner is $7/day for those interested.

Armen, you missed the conviser-mini review charts next to the poster. I think it was evidence and crim pro.

I love it that the greatest posting/comment activity on this blog has occurred (1) five days before the bar exam and (2) the weekend before spring finals.

(I have two papers to write in the next two weeks -- that's my excuse).

Honestly, I've heard hints that there are more healthy, entertaining, invigorating ways to procrastinate but, if there are, I have yet to discover them.

Oops, I shouldn't have the Bar Association logo here either.

P.S., DS:

I saw your late addition to the soundtrack thread. No way I'm letting that one slide.

DS, this better be framed and hung above your degree in your office. No exceptions.

"If implemented, the cost of attending the UC Berkeley's Haas Business School would soar by 65 percent to $44,154 a year in 2010-11, from $26,713 this fall.

Fees at UC Berkeley's Boalt School of Law would rise by 64 percent to $43,932 a year, from $26,729."

And some choice quotes from Dean Edley about top faculty fleeing.

Jesus Christ 11:36, what a buzz kill. Why don't you update us on Darfur while you're at it.

Anyway, more importantly, I'm going to try to identify items that appear on DS's desk.

-- shitty iBook. Good luck on exam soft.

-- safeway card

-- USB key

-- 2 highlighters

-- Red pen

And I'm done.

well i hope edley wins. not that i would want to be paying so much (i never thought i'd be happy to have paid what i did, seeing as tuition was 1/2 what it is now only 4-5 years ago), but because he is right that it is the only way for boalt to stay competitive.

it just sucks that our tuition money subsidizes the undergrads. there is no reason for boalt to be public seeing as we seem to get no money coming into the program from the UC system.

Speaking of seeing Con Law on the Bar, what subjects are people banking on seeing/not seeing?

My guesses:
1. No Con Law/Wills
2. Better than 90% for Prof. Resp.
3. Better than 80% for Civ. Pro.

99% PR

80% Civ Pro (New CA stuff, but not so many distinctions as to make it crazy hard)

80% Evidence (New CA stuff, plus I hate evidence questions they take forever to answer so I know they will test me on it.)

70% CP (Common, but not tested recently)

60% Trusts (I'll go w/Sakai on this one)

60% Torts/or Contracts (Work in the new Agency stuff)

Can we get a post about how people are planning on spending their last 2-3 days of studying pre-bar.

When people plan on quitting, what people's strategies are for perf test preparation, if people are doing MBEs and essays, or just studying outlines at this point, etc

I think Civ Pro is a little more likely than Evidence. It hasn't been tested in a while (while evidence was on teh Feb. exam), and I don't know that the examiners will feel like they need to test both of the new CA subjects.

I'm just reviewing outlines, notes, and flashcards.

can you post a link to the poster so others can print it out? Or was it a handmade creation?

Does anyone know how the fee hike problem at Boalt compares to other top public schools like UVA and Michigan?

Hey 0L...beat it. There's a whole thread dedicating to this. There's a reason no one is answering.
