LRW Fun

In my morning news glance, I noticed this item via Yahoo. Please take a moment to read the story. Back? Ok good. So if you're the AUSA in charge of writing that complaint, what would you say?

This is how I'd write it:

1. Illinois can't do this. See, e.g., McCulloch v. Maryland.

2. Therefore, the United States prays for a declaratory judgment that the law is unconstitutional.

cheesy, and a transparent attempt to make Boalt seem more diverse than it is. But I do like the idea of putting something up on the walls.

re: above comments: Thanks to everyone who has emailed to tell me about the oddly gigantic photograph of me in the lobby. I usually think I look moronic in pictures, so it would have been nice to have had advance notice, Boalt art director. Glad to know I also look cheesy. ::sigh::

Dude, they didnt even tell the people who were pictured? I'd be a bit annoyed if i were used as a diversity pic and not told.

that said, totally concur that its good to have something on the walls. i also like the aqua-colored paint.

that would be a "right of publicity" issue. most of us wrote our WOA briefs on that topic 1L year. please make the bad memories stop.

I don't think that art was transformative enough . . .

Everyone has been complaining about the over-diversity of the photos in the hall. I didn't even notice (and I looked at all fo them). Does that mean I'm not angry enough?

It is *possible* for a school to be so in to diversity that a reasonable observer interprets all of its behavior through that lens.

Maybe it means you aren't paying attention enough.
