In Their Own Words

I was asked to create a thread to allow people to post quotes from other attorneys at their firms/jobs. I held off because I didn't really have a quote to start things off. But the comments to the previous post regarding Christmas music at Zeb reminded me of an e-mail sent by a partner to all associates regarding a charity holiday dinner: "I thought it seemed a little early for a holiday event, but with Christmas music playing at Starbucks, it might even be late."

The same partner wrote an e-mail to me last weekend with the subject line "No Country for Old Men." The text read, "See it THIS weekend. Don't ask questions. Bill the time to character development. Or flip a coin. Head's you go."

This sounds like http://www.overheardintheoffice.com, except that it is not funny, interesting, or worth my time.

You work with some awesome people.

Whew. For a second there I thought they'd have to hear another ballot-counting case to make sure Mitt wins in '08. Now they'll just have to stir up the base with a little gun love!

If Armen's partner were REALLY awesome, he would've told associates to read the book first. That said, the movie is as faithful to the original as the medium allows. Anton comes off more blase and philosophical in the book, but Javier interprets the role with magnificent psychopathy.

this may be the wrong forum to post this, but just to rant a little bit. i haven't accepted anywhere yet, and i don't know if this has happened to anyone else, but i'm feeling STALKED. one of the firms i have an offer from keeps calling and emailing me. they called me TODAY to wish me a happy thanksgiving. and they've had 6 people email me and call me to talk since their offer dinner. ahhh!!! give me some breathing room, you know? i liked it at first, but this is too much!!!
