#1 WTF, Berkeley Law. These new "deluxe" automatic paper towel dispensers provide less paper than my receipt from the Wells Fargo ATM.

#2: WTF, Zeb. Not only did you raise coffee prices this year, but now you shrank the size of the cups. I smell rebellion.

Discuss.

The mens room downstairs by the lockers has two dispensers side by side, so you can simultaneously stick one hand under each.

And as a bonus, it is right by the doorless doorway, so you can chat up passing professors/ladies/lost 1L's while you tidy up.

In faaaact . . . if you don't want to break conversational stride at all, one of the urinals in that bathroom has an open line of sight straight to said hallway. I've been calling it "Larry."

And when I order a small coffee, I'm paying you $1.40 for a small coffee, not for a half-filled small coffee. Seriously, if you're putting that much milk or cream or whatever in your coffee, you probably shouldn't be drinking it anyway.

Also, it would be nice if we could wash our hands with something other than freezing cold water in the women's bathrooms. I hope they at least have hot water at Zeb...

It costs $.25

On a different, but related note . . .

Thanks!, Dean Ortiz, for finally getting those lazy UC Police to remove the wheel left from a stolen bike that's been pissing me off for 2 years now.

my favorite fact is that the Freedom of Speech Cafe (or more affectionately known to the undergrads as FSM), which is owned by the Zeb people, is not only cheaper, but their food is somehow better.

Hot water actually costs fifty cents (forty cents if you bring your own cup).

I think an even more baffling example of cafe non-parity is Strada, which has the same owners as Zeb, ostensibly uses the same supplies, and even shares employees on occasion - yet still manages to have consistently better tasting espresso drinks.

What are you retarded? Have you seen the espresso machines at Strada? I think they were built in like Milan circa the premiere of 8 1/2. They steam the sh*t out of nonfat milk. It's really hard to get high quality foam out of nonfat, but they do it. It's those sweet, sweet espresso machines.

On the other hand, the espresso machine at Zeb was probably purchased from Sears. Garbage.

We should replace Zeb with one of those vending machines that dispenses coffee and 'cappuccinos' - like the ones you find in the waiting room while you get your oil changed. The coffee would probably be just as good. Maybe we can get one of those sandwich wheels, too.

On the auto paper dispensers, if you grab the paper and pull straight down you can get as much as you want. There ain't no brakes on those rollers.

Justitia at 11:29: Seriously. Freezing cold water and one of the automatic towel dispensers doesn't even work!!!

I think Berkeley Law would benefit from some competition in its food department. The only reason Zeb gets any business is b/c it is a monopoly and we're too lazy to walk down to Strada or over to FSM for the better--and in some cases cheaper!--coffee and food. Not sure why the Zeb/Strada/FSM people let Berkeley Law get the short end of the coffee taste stick, but we definitely do. Wonder when the contract runs out....

Another complaint about the women's room...that damn second sink has been broken for how long now? No one can use it because the automatic-whatever is broken. It's been bugging me for a long time.

This may deserve its own post, but I've received confirmation that the courtyard project will commence the week after graduation. That means that current 2Ls will for-sure be missing our courtyard for our 3L year.

Given the speed by which construction goes on campus, the news may be worst for 1Ls - they may go their last TWO years without the courtyard.

But the good news is for the incoming class. By the time they're 3Ls, there will be some improvement (hopefully) to the current building situation. Some huge monstrosity with tons of skylights.

The finals exams will be released in two weeks. Craziness it's taking so long.

Corps w/ Gevertz = Cinco de Mayo at 1:30

Antitrust = Nueve de Mayo at 8:30

To follow up on 4:47PM's post, I'm compiling a list of known final exam dates and times here. Please post any that you know of! (Apologies to admins... I'm not trying to advertise for my blog here. Just adding to the collective body of Boalt knowledge.)

Thanks to everyone posting when finals are. I really appreciate it.

Anyone know when Civ Pro II will be?

But nobody likes your blog mr. learned hand. I see this forum right here as sufficient until we get the official word in less than 2 weeks.

PS: Learned hand? Really? Think much of yourself?

goodness. yanking the paper out of the dispensers is surely going to break those already feeble machines.

i've learned how to gently signal my desires to at least one of the faucets and paper dispensers, but what happened to the shelves in the bathrooms? apparently we're expecting an increase in students carrying infants with dirty diapers instead of books.

Off topic, but has anyone else noticed how hot Prof. Peters*n has looked lately? The smocks are gone. First the white pants, now this--the sartorial powers of this board are amazing. Who should be next on the fashion hit list?

One time, I saw a homeless guy sign in and eat at a firm-sponsored BCLT event in the evening. It was awesome.

Was it Dean Prosser? [Note: Dean Prosser is the name some of us have given to the short guy with thick glasses, always carries a bag, black comb-over, and often striped shirts.] Cuz if it was Prosser, that's not really surprising. He's been a staple at many Boalt functions--though he is yet to make a cameo at Barristers or BLF.
