With all the OCIP madness that is upon us, it's important to remember not to take ourselves to seriously. With that in mind, consider this a lighthearted companion to the callback thread. Feel free to post all those social blunders, wardrobe malfunctions, or other incidents you hope the interviewers won't remember.

Last year I interviewed at Quinn during OCIP. I showed up wearing a full suit and bow tie. The partner was wearing jeans; the associate, shorts. The entire interview consisted of them looking at me, down to my resume, and asking me if I had any questions. I said "no" and left. Saved myself 19 minutes of awkwardness!
You wore a bowtie?
Absolutely. I had to wear it to one of the interviews... may as well be one from which I knew I wouldn't get a callback.
so, was your bow tie a clip on or a pre-tied with velcro in the back?
Because of the seeming lack of faith in the beauty of the true bow tie, I may have to reinstate Bow Tie Tuesday.
I've got two words: flop sweat
because bowtie tuesday was such a thrilling success the first time around...
I like how he/she posted anonymously about his/her bowtie experience. It isn't like every 3L doesn't know who he/she/it is.
That said, watching him/her walking into that interview was worth my own ding for Quinn.
I walked into a hospitality suite today and proceeded to tell the firm that I was "most interested" in their SF office. The recruiter replied, "We only have one office and it's in San Francisco." I said, "Well, that's good! That is the one I am interested in! So, what can you tell me about the Corporate/transactional group there?" She responds, "We only do litigation." Whoops :-) Boy did I feel like a goof!
On the bright side, I wasn't interviewing with them and she was nice enough to excuse my moment of obvious stupidity and suggest other firms that would fit my profile.
Moral of the story: don't go into a hospitality suite after 4 interviews while in desperate need of coffee! :-)
