Section LL's E-ticket Ride

"Seismic engineers apparently have solved one of the world's great retrofit puzzles: how to keep UC Berkeley's Memorial Stadium from crumbling into a pile of concrete rubble during a major earthquake."

off topic: the email about airbears perplexes me. they claim, still, that the problem is "misconfigured laptops" around the campus. the also note that airbears has been running for six years without a widespread problem like this. then what is the explanation for why, exactly, there is a sudden proliferation of improperly configured laptops? did a bunch of people independently decide this year to use the faulty settings? is this some kind of conspiracy hatched in the minds of deviant, green-eyed stanfordians? please.
