What? No Boalt?
"PreLaw Magazine" (HT: Matt) attempts to rate the top 75 public interest law schools. What's interesting, is that they somehow missed ours. That, or they confused us with Stanford.

It looks like The National Jurist is responsible for this production. Good luck learning anything about them, though. They don't seem to believe in placing text on their webpage.
NJ is one of the magazines run by tiny Cypress Magazines in San Diego. See the California Secretary of State record here.
I keep hearing 1Ls saying they enrolled in 12 units of electives next semester and plan to "shop around." Can anyone tell me when they have to get the hell out of classes they aren't taking?
4:40,
They have their own slots, so if you're not a 1L, it doesn't affect you. If you are a 1L, take that as a good sign that you're likely to get in off the waitlist.
Matt is correct -- the 1L's own CRN's mean it doesn't affect 2L's. But the drop deadline this semester was something like 8 weeks.
i've heard from 1Ls that they're using 2L CCNs to get into full classes. to all the 1Ls: stop that now! our classes are full enough.
That's probably not true, and if it is, you should talk to the registrar about it.

Could be true. I know a few 1Ls last year that did that. I'm not sure when/how/if the registrar ultimately sorts it out.
I find the fact that Boalt is not in the top 75 public interest schools unsurprising. There are a great number of passionate students dedicated to pursuing public interest careers at Boalt, however, there is not great infrastructure to support us. Why don't we have a pro bono coordinator? Why no support for the first year student-run clinics? If Boalt places such a priority on public interest -- why has it taken until this year for many of the public interest organizations on campus to get office space... which is still under construction!?
I'm with 7:27. I think our standing off the list is pretty accurate.
That's nice, 7:27. But rumor has it we just didn't do the survey.
