Help Boalt LEED the Way

Just passing on a brief message from some fellow 2L's (and to those of you who think this "belongs in the BBB" -- shutty):
On Thursday, three 2L's are holding a lunch session about LEED certification and the Boalt renovation project. Representatives from Infill Architects will present the new building in detail, followed by a brief panel to discussion on LEED certification (a heftly sum of money, but with marketing and energy benefits). The 2L's are holding the session because, while the Administration and Regents ultimately make the decisison whether to pursue certification, they want to give the student community an opportunity to learn about the issue, and weigh in.

The session will be from 12:30 - 2:00 p.m. in Room 110.
And don't worry: it's catered.

Heya everyone. My name is Christopher Williams and I am one of the 2Ls who helped put this event together.
The event will cover the new building project, rather than the renovation, and it will also highlight the sustainable design elements of the new building (which will be there regardless of certification). We look forward to presenting an overview of the new building for the first half of the event.
For the second half, we would like to present information, through a panel of experts and decision makers, on the issue of certification and some of its costs and benefits.
We organized this thing so that students can have a voice is determining what kind of a consumer decision the school makes in regards to the new building. We look forward to your input and we will be providing some great food for you as well.
Please let me know if you have questions or concerns.
~Christopher

Is anyone else getting antsy about the unavailability of the finals schedule? Maybe I'm being unreasonable here. Because we are just coming up on midterm so it's not that late.

But surely other people are starting to try to make plans for when classes end in two months. Don't people want to figure out sublet dates and plan vacations and decide on summer employment dates and other such things?

Don't other schools accomplish this? UCLA's is on the web, but I guess they don't have a hole in the courtyard to blame the delay on. I remember Holly and Dean O used to get it out before I ever thought to wonder about it.

And I love the web site, telling us the projected availability is "whenever it becomes available."

[Insert polite dissent to the posting of otherwise-published Berkeley Law events here. Bad precedent.]

That said, I think this will be a particularly interesting presentation.

What exactly is your dissenting argument (to this or the trial competition)? I agree that turning N&B to a listing of where to get the latest slice of crappy pizza would be annoying, but particularly interesting or comment-worthy ongoings seem perfectly suited to the site.

Sometimes it's good to have such posts because (1) people may have missed the alternative listing; and, more importantly, (2)this forum, unlike the BBB, has the unique capacity for comments.

Anonymous comments on the BBB . . . hm. If the snide remarks I hear around the hallways are any indication, that could be AWESOME!!
