Overheard Today Outside Boalt Hall:
"If I were a Butts & Noalts commentator I'd write about the plastic bookmarks in the yellow planners. Mine was stuck right in the Honor Code section. I wonder if everyone's was?

Can we PLEASE rename it to Butts and Noalts??
jw, what was everyone's school of undergrad? i'm a sophomore who follows this blog, nerdy i know...
The top two undergrad schools represented at Boalt has been UC Berkeley and UCLA for quite some time now. Not sure what other schools are up there, but those two have the most.
Granted, there are probably more applications from those two schools, and they are big schools.
Sarah, I know people here from all kinds of undergrad institutions. Obviously the Ivys are well represented, along with strong state schools like UCLA, Berkeley, Michigan, Virginia, and their ilk. But that's not to say you have to go somewhere in the US News top 25 to get in. I know people from Utah, Kansas, and New Mexico, just to name a few. There's also a good amount of liberal arts college people, from Williams, Swarthmore, etc.
Basically the deal seems to be that stellar grades at an average school = ok grades from a good school. So if you're at some less prestigious place, just strive to get as many A's as you can, obviously. It's going to come down to that and your LSAT score, although Berkeley also considers "soft" factors more seriously than most schools.
