Queue Martha and the Vandellas...

Many would say there's little humor in OCIP (unless you count the whole interviewing-in-a-bedroom thing)--but I find it pretty amusing that our Summer-O-Fog has decided to turn into a heatwave the very day that interviews begin.

Ambitious 2Ls: complimentary monogrammed pocket fans. Take THAT to the bank.

... I just spent way too long thinking of ways to liken interviewers/pocket fans to the market for hotdogs/hotdog buns. Instead, I edited the post - thanks!

http://www.yourdictionary.com/complimentary

with an "i" to designate something given away for free as a courtesy?

I used the wrong form of complimentary/complementary in a cover letter once, and didn't realize until after I sent it out. It's not that I don't know the rule, it's just that they look so similar for so far into the word. Too hard.

OCIP always seems to happen during a heat wave. It's uncanny.

It was blazing hot last OCIP, too. Prepare to be even more sweaty in those dark bedrooms.

8:43 makes OCIP sound a lot more fun than it is.

L'Alex,

When I read the post title I got a different Martha and the Vandellas/OCIP reference....

Didn't they do that song "Nowhere to Run"...? ;)

Good luck everyone!

Yeah, you can keep moving OCIP around (used to be in October!) but it never fails--putting on the suits *always* means a heat wave.
