Bar Review Review
Howdy folks,
Despite being "extreme" (which I take to mean extremely awesome), I think there's a need to address last week's Bar Review at Jupiter.
Here are the general problems with Jupiter:
1. No hard alcohol
2. Poor service
3. Relatively high prices for the area
And the major one:
Not enough space for everyone who comes out to Bar Review. They were turning people away at around 10pm. I continue to have no idea who makes these decisions, but I'd hate to see the Kips revolution happen so early in the year. How about we save Jupiter for the crappy end of semester bar reviews that mostly no one goes to and the awesome bars for now? Good thing we moved things to the Downlow.
Looking forward to seeing good clean fun dissected in the comments.
Love,
James

(but only because of TS Irene...on any other day this would be Berkeley whine).
Absolutely agree that Jupiter is not conducive to socializing in large groups. It is an awful choice for BR.
Jupiter is bad but still its the only place where u can smoke a drunk cig without leaving your friends.
On a more important note, why does nobody call the bar to negotiate drink deals? And why is kips so underselected?
8:46,
The Landing. Best club in Berkeley.
The decision as to where bar review is gets passed down each year by the two people who did it the year before. Usually to their friends in the year below. My year it was two girls who I don't recall having a particularly high attendance rate at bar review.
Fuck Jupiter. Owners couldn't figure out how to run Bear's Lair = shit management.
Our beloved Kips on the other hand has excellent management from Chico, evidenced by the recent upgrade in bartenders both female and male.
Also there should be a rule that wherever we go must have a dance floor.
Also - Kip's dance floor is now wood.
I know, I was sad to see the carpet go, but apparently wood is "less disgusting."
