California Bar Results by School

California has released the breakdown of pass rate by school. Berkeley came in 5th with 86.3%, losing out to Stanford (93.7%), UC Irvine (90.2%), UCLA (89%), and USC (88%). The overall average for ABA approved schools was 76.9%.

By way of comparison, Berkeley's pass rate in 2011 was 87%, and in 2010 it was 91%.

There must be something in the water down in Southern California...

Boalt has pretty much always been behind Stanford and on par with USC. But to fall behind UCLA and UCI? Are we slipping?

What's the UCI comment based? We're talking about an inaugural class, so it's not historical bar passage rates. Some odd comparison of undergraduate reputation to bar exam performance? I mean we're talking about a class of 60 (51 of whom I guess chose to take the Calbar) high caliber candidates who were selected out of 6,000 or so applicants by none other than our former dean of students and given a free ride. I honestly didn't even bat an eye when I saw those results.
